Privacy policy

Effective October 19, 2026

Scope

This privacy policy covers Interval on the web at interval.cards, the Interval app for iPhone and the Interval desktop app. It is the whole policy for all three.

Interval is operated by Tidy Machines LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we"). You can reach us through the form at https://interval.cards/support.

Your account

To sync between devices you create an account with an email address and a password, or with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We keep your email address and, for those providers, the identifier they give us for your account. We store your password only as a one-way hash, never in plaintext.

You must be 13 or older to create an account, or older where your local law sets a higher age. You can also try Interval as a guest. A guest collection stays in your browser or on your device and is not sent to us until you create an account and choose to keep it.

Your cards

When you are signed in, your decks, notes, cards, review history, study settings and the images and sounds you add are stored on our servers so they appear on every device you use. Files you import, such as Anki packages, are read on our servers to create those cards.

Your cards are used to run Interval for you: scheduling reviews, showing statistics, search and sync. We do not read them for any other purpose, use them for advertising, or sell them.

Assistants and access tokens

If you connect an AI assistant to Interval, or create a personal access token, that assistant or token can read and change your cards with the access you granted. You can revoke a token in Settings at any time. What an assistant does with what it reads is governed by that assistant provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

Usage events

Interval records product events, for example that a review session started or an import finished, so we can see what works and what breaks. An event carries its name, your account or, when you use Interval as a guest, a random identifier, a session identifier and your browser or app version. Its details are mostly counts, durations, outcomes and error messages, and some events also carry the name of a deck or tag, the name of a file you imported or a search you ran. They are stored in our own database; we do not use a third-party analytics or advertising service. There is no setting to turn these events off today; if you want yours removed, ask through the support form.

Purchases

Interval does not take payments today, on the web, in the iPhone app or in the desktop app. If a paid plan is offered later, its price and terms are shown before you pay, and this policy will name the payment processor that handles it.

Support messages

If you write to us through the form at https://interval.cards/support, we keep what you typed, the reply address if you gave one, and the time it was sent, in a private store at our hosting provider, so a person can follow up, and we never use it for marketing.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the providers that host and operate Interval for us, including a company under common ownership with us that holds our hosting accounts, with Apple or Google where you sign in through them, when the law requires it, or as part of a transfer of the business.

Our hosting providers, Fly.io and Vercel, handle your information only to run Interval, under data processing terms that bind them to protect it.

Interval runs on Fly.io servers in Tokyo, Japan. Support messages are stored privately with Vercel.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete any card, note or deck at any time, and export your collection from Settings. To delete your account, open Settings, choose Delete Account and type delete to confirm; deletion cannot be undone.

On our live servers, your account, collection, review history, settings, access tokens and sign-in links are removed right away. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to remove Interval’s access to your Apple ID. We store an image or sound file once even when several accounts add the identical file, so deleting your account removes your link to it, and the file itself is removed when no other account uses it. Copies in backups go when the backups expire: daily storage snapshots after five days, and any backup taken before maintenance within 30 days.

We delete usage events 24 months after we receive them, and support messages 12 months after you send them. When you delete your account, your usage events lose their link to it and are kept until then, with their session identifier, random identifier and event details. Ask through the support form and we will delete your usage events and support messages. If you cannot sign in, ask for deletion through the support form from the email address on the account.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how it is used. Send the request through the form at https://interval.cards/support; we may ask you to confirm it comes from the account owner, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Interval is not directed to children under 13, or under a higher age where local law sets one. A parent who believes a child below that age made an account can tell us through the support form. If we learn that we hold personal information from a child in violation of the law, we will delete it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy. A material change is posted on this page, with a new effective date, before it applies. Questions and privacy requests go through the form at https://interval.cards/support.
